About this workshop
This workshop will cover the concept based curriculum design model specifically for mathematics. All content will be based on Dr Jennifer Chang Wathall's book "Concept Based Mathematics; Teaching for Deep Understanding in Secondary Schools" and everyone will be required to have a copy as this is the workbook for the workshop. Many early years and primary examples will be provided during the workshop. The book itself is 90% for grades Pre-K-12.

Bio for Jennifer Wathall
Jennifer is an author, educational consultant, and part-time instructor for The University of Hong Kong for the education faculty in the field of mathematics education. With over 25 years of experience in the education field, Jennifer has worked in several international schools in Hong Kong and New York. Based on her graduate studies in Educational Technology, Jennifer has designed numerous online courses that have reached thousands of educators from all over the world. Her research areas include blended learning methodologies and teaching for deep conceptual understanding.
In the international arena, she has presented numerous keynote addresses and workshops about effective eLearning practices, concept-based mathematics, and concept-based curriculum and instruction to Pre-K-12 educators. In her role as an independent consultant, she supports the development of curriculum and instruction which integrates effective eLearning practices and teaching based on deep conceptual understanding.
Jennifer’s best-selling book Concept-Based Mathematics: Teaching for Deep Understanding in Secondary Classrooms is available in the Korean language and is currently being translated into simplified and traditional Chinese.
In her spare time, she likes the hike up the peak in Hong Kong and embraces every opportunity to connect with nature.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for the workshop may only be issued if cancelled by the Workshop leader(for reasons beyond her control) and we failed to find a suitable time for most of participants; or registered participant informs IES he/she is not able to show up before 15/09/2024;
If there is insufficient registration before 15/09/2024 the IES will inform participants of the cancellation and refund the actual paid registration fee only.
