Participants left empowered to transform their educational practices.

In March, Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall led a workshop at Shekou International School that emphasized a deep understanding of mathematics beyond memorization. Educators distinguished between facts, processes, and concepts, enabling them to design more integrated lessons. The workshop prepared participants to create unit plans fostering deep conceptual understanding and a love for mathematics.

May saw Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld’s workshop on multilingualism, which provided practical strategies for inclusive learning environments. Educators learned to view linguistic diversity as an asset and implement asset-based pedagogy, moving away from deficit thinking. Strategies like content and language-integrated learning were highlighted to support language acquisition and content understanding. The workshop was transformative, promoting equity and inclusion in classrooms.

Upcoming Opportunities: Renowned Educators to Present in China
