• To be responsible, in conjunction with the Head of Lower School for the day-to-day running of the Lower School programmes for all children and to ensure that all activities, routines and rules are properly understood, sensibly conducted and conscientiously observed in order to ensure that school’s high reputation is suitably maintained
• In liaison with the Head of Lower School and LS SLT; determining, organising and implementing an appropriate curriculum for the school, having regard to the needs of the pupils, and the requirements of the Chinese curriculum.
• To support the Head of Lower School in delivering the Lower School vision of a happy, vibrant and proud community where the values, ethos and high academic standards of school are established and maintained.
• Supporting the Director of Wellbeing to oversee the school’s pastoral policies and procedures
• Monitor the Professional Learning Cycle within the Lower School to ensure that the highest quality teaching and learning is happening across the Lower School.
• Take a lead, alongside the LS DoS in embedding the philosophy of a coaching culture across the Lower School.
• Leading on parental communication and managing parental concerns and complaints as needed. Regularly communicating with parents re: key dates and other notices to keep them informed.
• Supporting the Head of Lower School in forecasting pupil numbers, class sizes and facilities in the Lower School for the following academic year. In conjunction with the Head of Lower School, taking part in the appointment, induction and development of LS staff.
• Supporting the Head of Lower School with strategic operational planning
• Ensuring regular updates of policies and procedures are made in liaison with the Lower School and Upper School SLTs.
